SMS Terms & Conditions

These SMS Terms govern your use of Trove Notes' text-message service. By providing your mobile phone number and checking the SMS consent box during signup (or by texting START to your Trove Notes archive number), you agree to these terms.

1. Program description

Trove Notes is a service that helps parents keep a private archive of memories about their children. After you sign up, you (and any co-parents or family members you invite) can text memories, notes, and photos to a dedicated phone number assigned to your child's archive. Trove Notes saves each text as an entry in your archive and replies to confirm.

You may also receive occasional writing prompts by text — short questions designed to help you capture a memory you might otherwise forget.

2. What messages you'll receive

When you opt in, you may receive:

Trove Notes will never send you marketing messages, promotional offers, or messages from third parties.

3. Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on how often you text your archive and the prompt cadence you've selected. Most parents receive between 2 and 20 messages per week. You can adjust or pause prompts at any time in your account settings at trovenotes.com.

4. Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. Trove Notes does not charge you for sending or receiving SMS or MMS messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you according to your plan. Check with your carrier if you're unsure.

5. How to get help

Reply HELP to any Trove Notes message, or email support@trovenotes.com. We'll respond within one business day.

6. How to opt out

You can stop receiving Trove Notes text messages at any time by replying STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message from your archive number.

After you reply STOP, you'll receive a one-time confirmation that you've been unsubscribed, and you won't receive any further texts from that number. To resume the service, reply START to the same number, or re-enable SMS in your account settings.

Opting out of SMS does not cancel your Trove Notes subscription — to cancel your subscription, visit your account billing page or email support@trovenotes.com.

7. Supported carriers

Trove Notes works with all major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular, Virgin Mobile, and most regional carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Privacy

Your phone number, the contents of your messages, and any media you send are governed by our Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Phone numbers and SMS consent are used only to operate the Trove Notes service for you.

We share the minimum necessary data with our SMS infrastructure provider (Twilio) to deliver messages, and with our payment processor (Stripe) for billing — neither uses your data for their own marketing.

9. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and the legal guardian or parent of the child whose archive you are creating. By opting in, you confirm that the mobile number you provided is yours or that you have authority to consent on behalf of the account holder.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or text before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
